Origins
How Dragons found its name and identity
The club was formed during the expansion of organized baseball competition in Tanzania. Its exact founding year is not yet confirmed.

The league grows
The first baseball league expanded the competition and created two additional teams.

Formation
Lions formed
Dragons began as one of the new league teams and was initially named Lions.

Renamed Dragons
Shortly afterwards, Lions became Dragons—the identity the club carries today.

One of Tanzania’s early baseball players, Anwar Said founded Dragons Baseball & Softball Club and continues to lead the club as Chairman and Head Coach. His experience extends to national-team coaching in Baseball5 and U23 Baseball, bringing high-level experience into the club’s development environment.
